Somos PAC Expands Map, Launches Six-Figure Investment in Southwest Kansas Amid Tightening Senate Race

Canvassers hit the ground talking to Latino voters about how Rev. Adam Hamilton has spent his life looking out for working people not taking them to court like Roger Marshall

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Somos PAC announced it has expanded its list of target states to include Kansas, launching a six-figure investment to reach Latino voters in Liberal, Dodge City, Garden City, and surrounding communities in support of Rev. Adam Hamilton as the Senate race tightens ahead of the November 3rd election.

The program will reach Latino voters where they are through site-based canvassing and one-to-one conversations about the issues that matter most, layered with Spanish-language radio ads and direct mail that make the case for how Rev. Adam Hamilton will put working people first. Canvassers will also help voters make a plan to vote, including when, where, and how they can cast their ballots.

‍

‍"Kansas should be a place where hard work is enough to build a good life, not one where families worry about falling behind because of rising costs or medical bills,” said Melissa Morales, President and Founder of Somos PAC. “I grew up in a working family in Southwest Kansas and I know what it’s like to work hard, watch every dollar, and feel like no one in politics is listening. That is why we launched this program. Hardworking Kansans shouldn't have to wonder who's listening to them or where candidates stand on the issues that impact their lives the most. We deserve leaders who show up, listen and take our concerns seriously, not just take us to court. Families are already being squeezed by higher costs while Republicans like Roger Marshall care more about supporting Trump's tariffs and his war with Iran. Rev. Adam Hamilton knows that, in Kansas, we look out for each other and we expect the people we send to Washington to do the same."

‍

The cost of living is driving the conversation. According to Somos Votantes’ latest polling of Latino voters in key states, 64% say costs have risen "a lot" over the past year, driven by grocery prices (62%) and health care costs (59%). Voters blame politicians over corporations for rising prices by a 3-to-1 margin, and blame Republican economic policies more than Democratic ones by 2 to 1. Majorities also link Trump's war with Iran to higher inflation (65%), gas prices (64%), and costs for taxpayers (63%).

‍

The Kansas program is part of the nearly $20 million Somos Votantes and Somos PAC have committed this cycle to reach Latino voters nationwide, including in Texas, Wisconsin, Arizona, Michigan, Nevada, and California. Each program is tailored to what the community needs in that place. In Southwest Kansas, that means meeting voters at their doors, then following up on the radio and in their mailboxes.
