Somos Votantes and Somos PAC Launch $6 Million Push to Reach Latino Voters in Texas

Somos Votantes kicks-off nonpartisan civic engagement program as Somos PAC targets three of the most competitive congressional districts in the state with a persuasion and mobilization campaign

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, Somos Votantes and its sister organization, Somos PAC, announced a combined $6 million investment to reach Latino voters across Texas ahead of the November 3rd election.

Somos Votantes launched a $2 million non-partisan voter education program to listen to Latino voters' top concerns, connect them to community resources, and provide information on voter registration — building on the organization's year-round civic engagement work across the country. The program will meet Latino voters where they are in communities across Texas through door-to-door canvassing and site-based outreach.

Working people, including hardworking Latinos, are the backbone of our economy. And Texas is home to one of the largest Latino electorates in the country. That's exactly why Somos Votantes has invested and will continue to invest in the state. We’re putting resources behind our efforts to ensure our community is empowered with the tools it needs to make its voice heard,”said Melissa Morales, founder and president of Somos Votantes.

Separately, Somos PAC will launch a $4 million program to persuade and mobilize Latino voters in support of Democratic candidates in Texas's 15th, 23rd, and 35th congressional districts – three of the state's most closely watched contests heading into November, chosen for their significant Latino electorates and competitiveness. The PAC's program is anchored by a paid media campaign combining direct mail, digital advertising, and radio programming, delivering bilingual, contrast-driven messaging directly to Spanish-speaking and bilingual households in each district.

“Texas is emerging as ground zero in the fight for control of Congress—and there is no path to victory without Latino voters," said Melissa Morales, founder and president of Somos Votantes and Somos PAC. “Latino voters aren't looking to political parties – they're looking for real leaders who will put in the work to earn their trust and fight for them. Somos PAC’s early investment will ensure Latino voters hear about how Democrats plan to grow our economy by raising incomes and lowering costs so that working people have the tools they need to build a good life. That's how you earn this community's trust – with a real, early, and sustained investment in what concerns them most."

The Texas investment builds on Somos Votantes and Somos PAC's history of running some of the largest independent Latino voter engagement and turnout programs in the country, combining direct voter contact with early and high-volume Spanish-language advertising in competitive races nationwide.

It also builds on Somos Votantes' latest state-by-state polling, which found Latino voters in Texas are especially concerned about the economy – 75% about inflation, 81% about rising gas prices, and 76% about the cost of the Iran war on taxpayers.
