Somos Votantes and Somos PAC Celebrate Victory in Nevada Governor’s Race

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Somos Votantes and Somos PAC founder and president Melissa Morales, released the following statement on Nevada results:
“Hardworking Nevadans are charting a new path forward, and that journey starts with changing who is leading our state. Congratulations to Governor-elect Aaron Ford on a hard-fought win. Ford is a true leader who has been shaped by the same struggles he’s fighting to fix. He earned this win by proving to Latino voters that he understood our needs and had a vision for a better economic future. While this race was always a tight contest, Ford’s commitment to working families earned the deepest currency in politics: trust. He didn’t just talk about the skyrocketing prices families are paying for gas, groceries, and health care, he presented a plan to fix it. We are proud of the work done in Nevada where Latino voters were reached at historic levels: nearly 75,000 doors knocked, over 3,000 conversations and a combined $3.6 million invested across Somos PAC’s program and Somos Votantes’ separate, nonpartisan program. The clock is ticking, it’s time to show working families that government can actually deliver results.”
