Somos PAC Takes Election Protection Directly to Voters’ Doorsteps
One thousand canvassers are on the ground mobilizing Latino voters, ensuring they know exactly where to cast their ballots and which hotline to call to defend their right to vote
WASHINGTON, D.C. — This Election Day, Somos PAC has 1,000 canvassers on the doors across key states, making sure Latino voters know exactly where to cast their ballots and who to call if they hit a problem at the polls.
Voters with questions or problems can call or text the nonpartisan Election Protection hotline at 866-OUR-VOTE (866-687-8683). Spanish-speaking voters can call 888-VE-Y-VOTA (888-839-8682).
It’s the final stretch of Somos’ biggest push of the cycle. Canvassers are projected to hit a record of 200,000 doors across Election Eve and Election Day, in Spanish and English, in Texas, Arizona, Nevada, Michigan, Wisconsin, Kansas and CA-22. Together, Somos PAC and Somos Votantes have knocked on more than 680,000 doors and had more than 90,000 conversations with voters this cycle, as part of a nearly $20 million investment to reach Latino voters directly.
"Latino voters have been showing up early, and our job today is to make sure nothing stands between them and their ballot,” said Melissa Morales, founder and president of Somos Votantes and Somos PAC. “Our canvassers are at the doors right now, making sure voters know where to vote, how they’re getting there and who to defend their right to vote. Latino voters are fed up with empty Republican promises on the economy, and they are ready to demand real solutions, like lower costs and higher wages, at the ballot box. We want every one of those voices counted.”
Early voting among Latino voters is up significantly compared to 2022 midterm numbers.
