Somos PAC Set to Knock 200,000 Doors on Election Eve and Election Day as Melissa Morales Heads to Texas

Latino-focused canvass program puts 1,000 canvassers on the doors as Morales joins live Election Day coverage on the ground

WASHINGTON, D.C. — As Latino voters head to the polls, Somos PAC is putting 1,000 canvassers on the doors for its biggest push of the cycle. They are projected to knock on 200,000 doors on Election Eve and Election Day across key states.

Canvassers are knocking on doors and having one-to-one conversations with voters in Texas, Arizona, Nevada, Michigan, Wisconsin, Kansas and CA-22, in Spanish and English. Somos PAC and Somos Votantes founder and president Melissa Morales, a Texan herself, will be in Austin today and Tuesday monitoring turnout and reactions as results come in. She and her team will be available for interviews in English and Spanish throughout Election Day and into the evening.

Early voting among latino voters is up significantly compared to 2022 midterm numbers and that’s a sign of how engaged the community is this election. Somos PAC canvassers are going to make sure those voters go to the polls and know exactly who is fighting to make life more affordable for them.

‍

“Promises don’t pay the bills – that is what we are hearing from Latino voters at the doors,” said Melissa Morales, founder and president of Somos Votantes and Somos PAC. “Voters are tired of empty and broken Republican promises that fail to address their real, day-to-day economic needs. This election is about working people using the ballot box to demand real solutions. They want candidates who will lower prices, not raise them with Trump’s tariffs and a reckless war with Iran. That is the choice our team is taking directly to 200,000 voters on Election Eve and Election Day, and we’ll make sure Latino voters have a plan to vote and know exactly who is fighting to make life affordable for them. I’ll be on the ground in Austin watching this massive mobilization unfold, ready to share what our canvassers are seeing in real time.”

What’s Behind the Final Push

  • Over half a million doors already knocked. Somos PAC and Somos Votantes have knocked on 622,926 doors and had 82,202 conversations with voters.
  • Nearly $20 million invested this cycle. Somos PAC and Somos Votantes are investing in Texas ($6 million), Arizona ($4 million), Nevada ($3.6 million), Michigan ($3 million) and Wisconsin ($1 million), plus a $500,000 push in CA-22, a $500,000 Somos PAC share of a $1.5 million TV and digital buy with LCV Victory Fund targeting MI-04 and AZ-02, and six-figure programs in Kansas and Nebraska.
  • Texas is the largest investment. Somos PAC canvassers are on the doors for Gina Hinojosa for Governor, James Talarico for U.S. Senate, and Democratic House candidates Bobby Pulido (TX-15), Katy Padilla Stout (TX-23) and Johnny Garcia (TX-35), with field offices in Beeville, Hidalgo County, El Paso and near San Antonio.
  • Voters keep telling Somos that the cost of living comes first. Somos Votantes polling found 64% of Latino voters say costs have risen “a lot” in the past year, and that they blame Republican economic policies over Democratic ones by 2-to-1.
  • Prices dominate the conversation at the doors. Gas, food and groceries, and health care costs come up more than anything else when Somos canvassers talk with voters.
  • Latino early voting is up significantly. Early voting among Latino voters is increasing significantly compared to 2022 midterm numbers.
