LCV Victory Fund and Somos PAC Launch $1.5 Million Joint Campaign Targeting Latino Voters in Key House Districts in Arizona and Michigan

Partnership holds Reps. Crane and Huizenga accountable on rising utility costs

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, LCV Victory Fund and Somos PAC announced a joint TV and digital advertising campaign targeting Rep. Eli Crane (AZ-02) and Rep. Bill Huizenga (MI-04), holding both Congress members accountable for raising the cost of utilities on working people by voting to cut our clean energy supply and handing massive tax breaks to billionaires – putting their wealthy donors ahead of the people they represent.

The partnership is a part of  LCV Victory Fund's $4 million investment across competitive House races including AZ-02, FL-07, MI-04, NC-11, and VA-01, targeting the Energy Bill Voter, a critical swing bloc of voters that are highly concerned about their utility bills, with Somos PAC contributing half a million dollars to fund bilingual digital advertising in AZ-02 and MI-04 – two districts where Latino voters represent a critical, competitive, and far-from-guaranteed share of the electorate. The campaign will run two spots  in each district across platforms t, making a direct economic argument to working families about the real-world costs of their representatives' votes. The campaign also highlights a broader pattern of Republicans putting the interests of wealthy donors and corporate special interests ahead of the constituents they were elected to serve.

“Latino voters in Arizona and Michigan are pragmatic, economically focused, and paying close attention to who is making their lives more expensive," said Melissa Morales, Founder and President of Somos PAC. "Eli Crane and Bill Huizenga had a choice – and they chose tax breaks for billionaires and the interests of their wealthy backers over relief for the working families in AZ-02 and MI-04 watching their utility bills climb every month. We're going to make sure those families know exactly who is responsible. This investment is about meeting Latino voters where they are and making the economic case on their terms.”

The districts targeted reflect a broader strategic reality: Latino voters in AZ-02 and MI-04 are not a base vote to be assumed – they are persuadable, diverse, and responsive to economic messaging. Somos PAC and LCV Victory Fund’s joint investment recognizes that winning these seats requires sustained, culturally competent outreach that speaks to the real life concerns driving Latino families' political decisions, from skyrocketing energy costs to grocery bills and gas prices.

“As energy costs skyrocket, we are meeting voters where they are,” said Sara Schreiber, Senior Vice President of Campaigns at LCV Victory Fund. “Many voters, including Latino voters, are angry about rising energy costs and they need to know when their representatives voted to take clean energy supply off the table while jacking up their utility bills to benefit billionaires. Through this partnership we are ensuring that Latino voters in these districts understand who is responsible for higher costs this November.”

Somos PAC has built a track record of running some of the earliest and largest bilingual digital campaigns in competitive races nationwide. This joint investment with LCV Victory Fund is part of a growing strategy of deploying coordinated resources in districts where Latino voters can and will determine the outcome – if they are reached with the right message, in the right language and at the right scale.
